The Gansons Nauta®:
Conical Screw Mixer
The Gansons Nauta® is a gentle, three-dimensional conical screw mixer used across a wide range of industries including pharmaceuticals, food, chemicals, paints, pigments, cosmetics, fragrances, carbon black, petrochemicals, crop protection, and animal feed. It mixes without generating heat or mechanical damage, making it ideal for fragile, thermolabile, or high-value materials. Gansons is one of only two official licensees of Nautamix B.V. (Holland) in the world, with over 1,000 units sold across more than 40 years.

Three-dimensional mixing principle
- The Nauta® mixing screw rotates on its own axis while simultaneously orbiting 360 degrees along the wall of the conical vessel.
- The Nauta® mixing screw rotates on its own axis while simultaneously orbiting 360 degrees along the wall of the conical vessel.
- The result is three-dimensional mixing across vertical, radial, and circumferential axes in a single continuous action.
- This achieves 95% mixing efficiency with accuracy up to 0.01%, without heat generation or mechanical stress on the product.
Multi-role configuration
- The Nauta® can be configured as a mixer, granulator (with binder spray nozzles), reactor (with heating/cooling jacket), extractor, or homogeniser.

Cleaning
- A WIP (Wash in Place) system ensures thorough cleaning and can be recipe driven based on defined cleaning protocols.
- High-impact 360° cleaning coverage
- Faster changeovers and higher equipment uptime
- Self autoclavable
Online Sampling Device
- Representative, contamination-free sampling without interrupting operations.
- Maintains vacuum integrity for sensitive formulations while enabling real-time QC

Fast Complete Discharge
- The conical vessel shape and rotating screw facilitate gravity discharge, allowing the batch to be quickly emptied through the discharge valve at the bottom of the mixer.
- Rapid discharge allows the mixer to be quickly cleaned and prepared for the next batch, improving overall equipment effectiveness.
- Automated discharge systems can be incorporated for hands-free operation and further reducing cycle times.
Lump Breaker
- The lump breaker helps eliminate agglomerates and lumps that may occur in certain phases of the mixing process, preventing their formation. It is particularly useful for breaking down lumps in cohesive materials to ensure a homogeneous mixture.
- The unique design of the Nauta mixer, with its three distinct intermixing currents, allows the lump breaker to effectively disperse agglomerates throughout the entire batch.
