Hanningfield Uni-Mill®
The Hanningfield Uni-Mill® utilizes the current industry standard cone mill design, featuring an impeller rotating inside a screen at an optimal angle. The Uni-Mill® achieves comminution through the compression and shearing of particles between the impeller and the screen surface. The Hanningfield Uni-Mill® can be broadly classified into two types: Overdriven and Underdriven Uni-Mills.

Size Reduction
- All Hanningfield mills come with a wide range of screen and impeller tooling, enabling the achievement of various final particle sizes and throughputs.
- Conical mills are generally suitable for size reduction down to approximately 150 microns (80 mesh) with minimal heat generation. These mills can be used for both dry and wet milling applications.
Construction
- As standard, all contact parts are made from 316L stainless steel (220 grit), with FDA-compliant seals, gaskets, and other components.
- Non-contact parts, such as frames, motor covers, and control panels, are made from 304 stainless steel (150 grit).
- All standard materials of construction and surface finishes can be customized upon request.

Customizable Features
- The Uni-Mill® offers a variety of mounting solutions, including mobile frames, swing arms, fixed posts, and hoist mounts. Additionally, the mill can be customized with different inlet and outlet configurations, such as hand-feed chutes, valve assemblies, tri-clover connections, vacuum adapters, or any bespoke design required for process integration.
- Optional upgrade features include an autoclave adaptor kit (detachable mill head for sterilization), temperature monitoring, CIP/WIP, pre-breakers, nitrogen purging, and ATEX execution where applicable.

Hanningfield Overdriven Uni-Mill®
The Hanningfield Overdriven Uni-Mill® series features a top-driven impeller rotating inside a screen. The machine is designed to work with spacers, allowing users to adjust and set the optimal gap between the screen and the impeller for efficient milling.
Hanningfield Underdriven Uni-Mill®
The Hanningfield Underdriven Uni-Mill® series features a bottom-driven impeller rotating inside a screen. The design incorporates an optimal, spacer-less gap to prevent metal-to-metal contact. This makes tooling changes quicker and easier, guaranteeing the closest possible gap each time. The machine offers in-line inlet and outlet options, providing higher throughput, a more compact design, and improved sanitary construction.
